| The BASICON MicroTally™ 16 - Model
1119 is a
new generation, state of the art ,tally counter,. It’s small size and light
weight reduce fatigue while counting. It’s low power design allows the
unit to operate several months from a single 9V Alkaline battery.
The MicroTally 16 is intuitive and easy to use. There are no confusing displays or menus to worry about. To start a study, turn the power switch on and begin pressing the appropriate keys. When you are finished, just turn the switch off. You may record any number of studies before you download the data. As a turning movement counter, the design of this instrument has the primary intersection movements (left, right and thru) on 12 separate keys. It takes only one keypress to record a movement. The unit beeps each time a key is pressed. This unit has four additional keys to make pedestrian counting easier. Alternatively, these keys can be used for vehicle classifications. In addition there are two extra keys that can be used to indicate “U” turns, pedestrians, bicycles, trucks, “OOPS!”, etc. The MicroTally 16 records and time-stamps all keypresses, when it is on, up to 256,000 keypresses. Therefore, the same unit can be used for all sorts of studies, including turning movment counts, gaps, saturation flow rates, stop delays, vehicle classifications, speeds, and general purpose tally counting (i.e. people counting at events). At report time, any interval may be specified, from one minute up. This unit can record any number of studies, which can be mixed, between downloads. The MicroTally 16 is powered by a single, standard, 9V alkaline battery, and will operate several months from the battery. All keypresses are stored in non-volatile Flash memory, so no data is lost if the battery must be changed in the field. |
The BASICON WinTally™ software is the key to
the MicroTally unit’s features. With WinTally, you configure the MicroTally
data into your desired studies and reports. The data is stored in a raw
time-stamped format, therefore, you can generate multiple studies from
the same data set. The downloaded raw data file is non-editable, however
the generated study files may be edited.
WinTally is a 32 bit Windows95/98/NT application, fully Year 2000 ready. WinTally will support a variety of studies, including, turning movement
counts, staturation flow rates, Stop delay, gaps, vehicle classifications,
user assigned counts, and speeds. WinTally can generate intersection reports
and columnar reports. In addition, WinTally can generate comma delimited
files for importing into spreadsheets and databases.
