COUNTER/CLASSIFIERS
Dai
manufactures a complete line of counter/classifiers predominately for vehicular
traffic surveys, but many of these counters may also be used for bicycle
and pedestrian counting. Dai's
counters are unique in the industry in their construction. These
counters have been designed for ease of use, high reliability counting
and low power consumption. Our counters are composed of two major
components, the "brains" and the "enclosure".
The brains
component of our counters is housed in it's own plastic enclosure about
the size of a calculator, and is removeable. The brains component
contains two to eight input channels, the input processing circuits, serial
communications, the data memory and a real time clock.
The enclosure
is normally a waterproof metal housing containing the sensor interface
circuits (i.e. air switches, loop detectors, Piezo detectors, etc.), the
batteries, and a wiring harness. With this design approach we can
build a large variety of "standard" counters and can easily create counters
for all sensor devices in the market (i.e. IR, fiber optic, acoustic, microwave,
ultrasonic, etc.).
